SUMMARY:Racial Equity Gathering
DESCRIPTION:🗓️ Date: Friday\, December 13th\, 2024\n🕐 Time: 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM\n📍 Location: Kirkland City Hall\, Peter Kirk Room | 123 5th Ave\, Kirkland\, WA 98033 \nEvent Overview:\nJoin us for the 3rd Annual Racial Equity Gathering\, hosted by Eastside Pathways\, to celebrate our shared commitment to advancing racial equity within East King County. This gathering will provide a space for personal healing\, professional growth\, and organizational thought partnership aimed at reducing harm and promoting equity. \nEastside Pathways\, along with its partners and their constituents\, is dedicated to implementing systemic change so that every child and youth can reach their full potential. In addition to the five strategic goals outlined in our 2024-2026 EP Strategic Plan—which focus on academic\, developmental\, and social-emotional outcomes—we set a new goal in 2020 specifically to tackle the impacts of racism. We acknowledge that historic and systemic racism toward Black\, Indigenous\, Hispanic/Latino\, Pacific Islander\, and Asian communities\, along with many other forms of oppression\, present barriers to our shared vision for the children and youth of East King County. \nOur Vision:\nAll individuals in positions of authority and influence are accountable for the systemic issues that currently exist. It is within our roles to create lasting change so that “race no longer determines outcomes”\, as outlined in the 2024-2026 EP Strategic Plan. During this gathering\, we will celebrate the relationships we’ve built\, reflect on our collective anti-racist efforts\, and honor the progress made toward our shared vision. \nWho Should Attend:\nThis gathering is for anyone aligned with Eastside Pathways’ mission and values\, including: \n\nEastside Pathways partners\nRacial Equity Collaborative Action Network (CAN) partners\nEastside Pathways Racial Equity Council partners\nPOC Only members \nDiversity\, Equity\, Inclusion\, and Belonging (DEIB) professionals\nCommunity members dedicated to racial equity within East King County \n\nCelebrate With Us:\nCome together to reflect\, heal\, and celebrate the strides we’ve made in dismantling systemic racism and promoting equity. Your presence is vital to our shared mission\, and we look forward to convening with partners\, racial equity council members\, and community advocates who are committed to creating a future where race no longer determines outcomes.
