New Faces at Eastside Pathways!

We welcome the newest Eastside Pathways facilitator, Carolyn Duffy.  She is facilitating the Attendance Collaborative. Carolyn lives in Clyde Hill and is the mother of three children all of whom attend Bellevue public schools.  Carolyn is currently a consultant for a local tech start-up.  Prior to that, Carolyn worked at Ignition Partners and Microsoft.  Before moving to Seattle in 1995, Carolyn worked at Lazard Freres in New York and attended Harvard Business School, where she was a Baker Scholar.

We have new Board members!  Suzanne Baugh is an experienced Commercial Real Estate Broker.  Throughout her 25+ years in the industry, she held various management positions at Cushman & Wakefield, The Staubach Company, and Wright Runstad & Co and Equity Office.  Suzanne has been an active member of the Bellevue community. She has been a board member of the Bellevue Downtown Association, Bellevue Chamber of Commerce; Eastside YMCA; Bellevue Economic Partnership; KidsQuest, and is currently the president of Move Bellevue Forward.

Becca Fine is a former Bellevue resident and Bellevue School District alum.  In 2013, she graduated from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, with a BA in political science and a double minor in Spanish and Latin American studies. She spent part of her junior year studying at the Universidad de San Francisco in Quito, Ecuador. While attending school, Becca also interned for Eastside Preparatory School and Global Partnerships. She is a passionate volunteer and has participated in Social Venture Kids, was a member of the Liberty Cap Society at Dickinson, and after graduating from college she joined Social Venture Partners where she sat on their early childhood education grant committee. Currently, Becca works at Waggener Edstrom Communications in Bellevue, where she has been supporting the Microsoft Environmental Sustainability and Licensing accounts. Becca is an avid Seattle sports fan, loves to travel and peruse the many Seattle restaurants. She currently resides in Kirkland.

Luis Ortega is a professional speaker, leadership development consultant, and the founder/director of Storytellers for Change.  Since 2005, Luis has presented and facilitated workshops at over 500 schools and various colleges, conferences, and other events, across the United States. As a consultant, Luis designs and implements social impact projects and leadership development programs for youth, college students, educators, and non-profit professionals.  He also serves as a Freedom Writer Teacher thought the Freedom Writer Foundation and is an Advisory Board member of the Latino/an Educational Achievement Project and the Seattle MESA (Mathematics, Science & Engineering Achievement) Program.

Eastside Pathways has a new Communications and Operations Manager, Nahyeli Mendivil.  Nahyeli comes to Eastside Pathways with a wealth of experience in the for-profit, non-profit and education sectors.  Her professional history includes consulting with PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young on the for-profit side, and Border Action Network and Girl Scouts of Western Washington in the non-profit sector.  Nahyeli comes to us from the Bellevue School District where she served as a Family Liaison and Intervention Specialist.  She is also a certified Washington State interpreter.  She received her undergraduate degree from Wellesley College and her graduate degree from the University of Washington.
