Eastside Pathways is excited about the launch of the NISO Promotores Program here on the Eastside.  NISO announced that they “are open for business” at a grand launch event on January 9. Over 50 community members and Eastside Pathways partners were in attendance to learn about this new organization.

Alma Gonzalez, principal and director of NISO, was a lead Promotor on the Eastside Pathways Promotores project (September 2016 – June 2017). Alma spent the last six months convening community members to develop a mission, vision and set of services that NISO will now offer to the community. She has been supported by an advisory council of dedicated community leaders who share the vision of “creating opportunities to promote self-development and stronger, vibrant, diverse communities” through the use of the Promotores model.

We encourage you to visit www.nisoprograms.org to learn more and to contact NISO at contact@nisoprograms.org or (206) 334-6816 directly if you would like to learn more or have a potential project idea that you would like to explore.
