An organization like Athletes for Kids, a youth mentoring program, plays an important role in the Bellevue community. Athletes for Kids matches children who have disabilities with high school athletes to learn from each other and positively impact each other’s lives.  The high school athletes model acceptance and inclusion for others in their communities.

They make an impact on our community by:

  • Helping children with special needs develop self-confidence, self-esteem, and essential life-skills.
  • Helping student athletes develop character, compassion, leadership skills.

Through their small staff, financial and volunteer support from families, community members, and Board of Directors, they help schools and communities foster environments where differences are celebrated and all students are treated with respect.

Athletes for Kids offers many volunteer opportunities for individuals or groups.  Coordinating events for mentors and their buddies, Office Administration, and Special Events are just a few of the many things they need help with.  Learn more about the organization by visiting the “Get Involved” page at www.athletesforkids.org.

By partnering with Eastside Pathways, Athletes for Kids looks forward to collaborating with other Eastside agencies to work on improving the lives of children with special needs and the high school athletes who mentor them.  The collective impact approach will help broaden their reach and allow them to do more to make a societal impact. Athletes for Kids is thrilled to partner and network with so many of the excellent organizations currently involved with Eastside Pathways.
