Eastside Baby Corner (EBC) is more than an agency serving the Eastside community. It is a steward for the needs of babies that would otherwise begin life without adequate food, supplies, and equipment for a strong start in life. EBC was founded in 1990 in a dining room and has grown into an agency that in 2014 distributed over 50,000 baby and maternity essentials through partnership with community organizations serving families on the Eastside.
EBC joined Eastside Pathways a year ago and we are happy to highlight their commitment to collective impact.
What role does Eastside Baby Corner play in the community?
EBC takes in donations of children’s clothing and goods from the community, purchases baby food, formula, car seats, pack n’ plays and diapers and, today, annually distributes about $4.5 million worth of goods directly to our provider partners, including the Bellevue School District.
How do you get this work done?
We support over 145 family-service programs and sites from almost 60 partner agencies who directly assist children and parents who are living in poverty or crisis. Through this network of programs, nearly 700 children each week get the essentials they need for healthy development.
What are ways that people can get involved with Eastside Baby Corner?
We are always looking for volunteers! Volunteers donate an average of more than 2,500 hours each month. Another way to get involved is by donating goods – new or gently used, or by giving financial support.
How will being a part of Eastside Pathways make a difference for Eastside Baby Corner?
Being a part of Eastside Pathways will further help us continue to support kids from birth to age 12. This collaboration is the foundation of the EBC service model. EBC supports both families and the professionals helping families be safe, housed and employed.
