CAN: Remote Living and Learning

KidsQuest Children’s Museum has been happy to be a part of the Remote Living and Learning CAN. It enabled us to hear from partners the need to get materials to families that would support their children’s learning from home and the need for the materials not to be only digital.

KidsQuest Children’s Museum went to work, talking with teachers, early learning providers, and other partners to put together Learning Kits with high quality materials that could be used at home with families over and over again.

Curriculum cards were created by museum educators to extend the learning with the materials. These cards were translated into Spanish, Amharic, Arabic, and Somali – all with the help of our partners. To date we have gotten over 1,800 Learning Kits out to families across the Eastside.

These kits are reaching families who need it most! Helping us do this are our partners at housing sites, food banks, libraries, therapy sessions, and afterschool programs, to name just a few.

We will continue to work with our partners to get learning materials to families long after the pandemic is over. This new program has opened doors to learning at home and supporting children’s journey in learning.
