About This Work

Since January 2023, Eastside Pathways Executive Director Kalika Curry has served as a member of King County Public Health’s Health Equity and Anti-Racism Community Advisory Group (HEARCAG), collaborating with community leaders, policymakers, researchers, and public health advocates to advance health equity across King County. Through this role, Eastside Pathways has helped shape the HEARCAG Brown Paper, a community-informed vision for investing upstream, addressing root causes, and creating equitable pathways to health and wellbeing.

Eastside Pathways brings a unique children and youth lens to this work, connecting “satellite-level” systems data with “street-level” community experience. Through our focus on children, youth, and young adults ages 0-26, we contribute insights about how housing, education, economic opportunity, behavioral health, and family wellbeing intersect to shape outcomes across generations.

The Brown Paper reflects the power of collaborative leadership across our county and a shared commitment to ensuring that those furthest from justice are centered in decision-making. Together, we are working toward a future where every child, youth, and family has equitable access to the resources, supports, and healthcare needed to thrive.
